Hi guys, (new on this forum :D)

The topic name may have confused you, (and my crappy english doesn’t help) but I would really use some help.

First of all, I’m a beginner… I haven’t read / studied any special video editing books or these sort of things. All that I know right now, I learned it by practicing and reading Sony Vegas’s help file.

So, now my question is:

I have recorded a video sequence in World of Warcraft. (Well the game is not very important..) What I want to do is: Make my character move around talk etc.. without the background! It’s not really easy to understand so here’s a little example of what I want to do:
https://www.youtube.com/watch.php?v=Yhm1ClW5uAY&search=world%20o

As you see, the character here moves without a background.. well there’s one but it’s completely white, which is impossible ingame. (there’s no such “white” place…)

Is it possible to do such things in Vegas? 😀 I’m sure that yes, just need somebody to show me how.

And since I’m not a “pro”, I would like you to not use technical words… Stick to step by step instructions 😛

Thanks much!

Sorry, I could not get your link to work, so cannot see what you would like help with.
If you are trying to animate a character that really cannot be done with Vegas alone. If you are trying to take a character (still or animated) and move it around and through a background that can be done by using ‘track motion and key frames.

Place your character on track one and your background on track two.
Use pan/crop event to resize your character (if needed). Then use track motion to move it around. Your character would need to have a ‘transparent’ background which you can do in Photoshop or possibly you could color/luma key it in Vegas.

The way I understand it is you’d have to mask out the current background and replace it with generated media (white).

Or you’re looking at green screen. I’d check out Serious magic for that one but their software isn’t cheap.

Hi!

The character is animated already. (.avi file) A guy told me that I had to use Chrome Keyer effect in Vegas.. I did it, the background I have now is completely black. How can I turn it in white?

Thanks

Put a white generated media on a track below.

I have a little problem here.. :)) I don’t know how to do.. I just followed your instructions and here is what it makes:

I just put the Chroma Keyer on the main video to make it completely black. And then make another video track with the media generated white background.. But there must be a way to make em work together or something like that?

Thanks!

First of all, track 3 looks TRANSPARENT instead of solid white. Secondly, the track level slider is at 99.4%.
