    DV-AVI is about 13Gig per hour so that sounds right. And, yes, Vegas can handle that and you DO want that.

    It will NOT automatically split it up unless it has to do so (i.e. capturing to a FAT32 formatted drive which has a 4Gig file size limit) or unless you tell it to.

  • [craig scime] “String.Format(“{0}[{1}]{2}”,”

    You didn’t change this as I indicated. Get rid of the square brackets [ and ] and add two back-slashes between {0} and {1} “\”. I noticed my above post got reduced to a single backslash but there should be two.

    [Don Cool] “DVD NTSC” Creates a DVD compliant file and includes MPEG compressed audio. This audio would the be decompressed and recompressed into AC3 to create the DVD reducing the quality of your audio. I would not use this one.

    [Don Cool] “DVD Architect NTSC video stream” Creates a DVD compliant file but does not contain audio. Audio should be rendered as AC3 and both files given to DVD Architect. I would use this one for standard DVDs.

    [Don Cool] “DVD Architect NTSC Widescreen video stream” Same as DVD Architect NTSC video stream except it’s 16:9 (widescreen) instead of 4:3. I would use this one for widescreen DVDs.

    CD track markers (added by pressing “N”) should be identified as separate tracks when burned as an audio CD. Doing things the way I mentioned in the article does that for me. Both CD players and Windows Media will see the separate tracks and I can jump to whatever track I want.

    Below the timeline is some buttons. One of them looks like a “lock”. If you turn that on, moving on the timeline will follow to the Pan/Crop window.

    Wow, in my Canon XL and GL cameras it’s just a small holder you pull out of the camera and change out the batter with a $5 watch battery.

    Sure you do. If you got a disc, it’s a PDF file on the disc. If you got the download verison, just go back to the Sony Creative Software site and download the manual.

    Based on the “features” listed on Sony’s site, apparently subtitles are NOT included in the “Movie Studio” versions.

    Are the audio tracks muted? Did you turn on “Options – Mute All Audio”?

  • If you’re rendering regions, you should see a line of code like this:

    String regionFilename = String.Format(“{0}[{1}]{2}”,
    filename,
    regionIndex.ToString(),
    renderItem.Extension);

    At this point, you should get a filename which begins with a base filename plus the region number. Instead, you want to combine the PATH of the filename plus the NAME of the region which could be done like this:

    String regionFilename = String.Format(“{0}\\{1}{2}”,
    Path.GetDirectory(filename),
    region.Label,
    renderItem.Extension);

    The above will take the path of the base filename, add the necessary backslash, and then add the label of the region name. See if this works for you.
