Ralph, HD-DVD has been abandoned at this point. You better go with Blu-Ray which Vegas can burn straight from the timeline. Still requires a Blu-Ray burner if you want an actual Blu-Ray disk (you can burn shorter videos to a standard DVD) and a Blu-Ray player, though.

Multiple ways. If you only want to increase the volume on the track, change the volume slider on the audio track. If you want to adjust volume dynamically over time, add a volume envelope and adjust as needed.

[sargon saadi] “but they’re telling me that I have to buy the AC-3 encoder”

The AC3 encoder is included with DVD Architect. Just install and register DVD Architect and you can use the AC3 encoder in Vegas.

  • No, you cannot display only the first and last. You *CAN* turn them off but you’ll also turn off the audio waveforms. It’s one of the checkboxes on the Options – Preferences screen.

Do a search on the internet, locate the one you like, and then put it on the timeline.

Vegas plays “nice” with other apps. When you minimize Vegas, it releases the resources so that other applications can use them. Then when you bring Vegas back, it reattaches to those resources. There is an option to not release the open files. I haven’t noticed one to not release the firewire port, though.

No. Record it at normal rate. Once recorded, hold down the CTRL key and resize it smaller to speed it up. Changing the rate the way you changed it only affects the PREVIEW and not any of the actual renderings.

Absolutely. First go to Options – Preferences and set the duration for the still. This will be the length for all of them when added. Then select all of the images and drag the FIRST one to the timeline.

February 25, 2008 at 2:12 pm in reply to: Question about Bypassing Event FX in video track

There are scripts available that can delete FX from events/tracks. These prevent you from having to open each one of them individually and manually deleting the FX.

Scripting is a powerful feature of Vegas letting you automate many tasks or even add new features to Vegas. Click on the link below my name for more info on scripting.
