My first question would be How long does it take to render it as a standalone file? That answer could help determine if what you’re seeing is simply how long it takes.

Render to an uncompressed AVI and make sure you check the “Include Alpha Channel” box. Then you can just drop that newly rendered file anywhere on the timeline instead of the other project.

When you add your color correction, do it in the PROJECT MEDIA tab to that media instead of anywhere on the timeline.

Track 1 – the title generated media

Track 2 – the “semi-transparent smoke-greyish” (which could be created using a solid color black generated media)

Track 3 – the video to show under the title and title background.

After you open Pan/Crop, you MUST right-click the image and choose “Match Output Aspect”. Then after you resize it, you should be able to resize it and position it anywhere on the screen without “running into a brick wall”.

The red is an error indicator. Vegas is having a problem reading those files correctly.

The correct procedure using Vegas’ built-in multi-cam would be to add the color correction to the media itself in the Project Media. That will affect that particular media no matter where it is on the timeline.

First of all, I’d just use Pan/Crop to resize and position as Mike said and not worry about the 3dLE tool unless there’s some specific reason. Otherwise, use Track Motion to position it.

You can create sub-clips and label them however you want. You can also create bins in the Project Media and copy clips and sub-clips into the various bins to further organize the clips.

Yes, it was apparently down for a few hours this morning. It’s back now. The server my site is hosted on was down but they have it fixed now.

I got the same error and also could not check e-mail (it attempted to log in but then got a pop3 error). Because it was down, I also made the changes to the DNS servers they said I needed to change a couple months ago.

You simply select the 9 events, go to the Excalibur Custom Command Pip/Twirl tab, and click on the big “Video Wall” button. It will then create the 3×3 video wall using those 9 selected clips. It should then be visible in the preview screen as you play back the timeline over that area.
