Try Scenalyzer Live for this task. It works great and can capture straight to a .WAV file ignoring the video.

In that case, my guess would be they’re XVid or DivX with an audio format that Vegas doesn’t support. You’ll need to use some other program to convert the audio into a format that Vegas can read.
BTW, you can use a program like “GSpot” to determine the real codec used for the video and audio in those files.

If you want it scrolling with text, you have a couple of options:
1. Turn it into a FONT so that it can easily be added in the text.
2. Add it on a separate track set to scroll at the same speed as the text.
But, yes, it can be easily done.

How about if you just name the new file the same as the old file and just replace it on the hard drive. Then you can just open DVD Architect and it would automatically use the new file.
Otherwise, just double-click on the button on the menu. Now look at the “media properties” on the right. One of the categories is TRACK MEDIA. You can change the file used there. Or after double-clicking you can just drag the new file to the timeline in the lower right. Or you can just drag the new file to the main window.
Or, you can right-click the new media, right-click and drag it to the menu button, and then choose “set media”.
If you have a lot of menu items, I’d do the file naming method I mentioned first.

You capture DV using the external capture app.
You capture HDV using the INTERNAL capture app.
Sounds like you’re using the wrong one. If it doesn’t ask when you choose capture, you can change which one is used in the preferences.

“AVI” is a filename extension – not a type of video. What TYPE of video is in the AVI file? AVI can hold many different types of video.

You could do a File – Save As, pick a new folder, and check the “Copy and Trim” option. That will copy what’s used in the project and then you can delete the original files.

Standard SD DVDs are MPEG2 – that’s your only choice. You can render to some other format but when you give that file to DVD Architect it will then have to convert it to MPEG2 (giving you the associated generational loss).

If scene detection is turned on, you’ll get a new clip every time you stop/start the camera. With scene detection turned off, you should get one long clip.
