If you want it scrolling with text, you have a couple of options:

1. Turn it into a FONT so that it can easily be added in the text.

2. Add it on a separate track set to scroll at the same speed as the text.

But, yes, it can be easily done.

Since I can crop better in a separate program, I wonder, would it be possible to save them on a black background and then import them as a gif file to retain the resolution? Will Sony Vegas Pro handle gifs?

It will handle gif but wouldn’t PNG or PSD be better than GIF???
