One of the biggest things you gain in the Pro version is the ability to run scripts. Scripts can simplify and speed up your editing greatly.
The Pro version will also give you full control of your renders (i.e. the “custom” button will work with MPEG2).
There’s several advantages to using the full version. However, YOU are the one who has to weigh if the advantages will be beneficial to what YOU are doing.

Both versions install in separate folder and you can continue to run multiple versions just fine. I have many different versions installed on the same machine. However, once you save a file in a newer version, it can no longer be opened in an older version.

At the bottom of the ChromaKey dialog is the keyframe timeline. If you can’t see it, it’s been resized to “nothing”. Move the mouse to just above the bottom of the dialog box and it should be an up/down arrow. Click and drag upwards to make the keyframe timeline visible again.

Sounds like you’re creating multiple keyframes. Instead, you only want to adjust the FIRST keyframe. If you can’t see the keyframe timeline, readjust the screen so that you can see the keyframe timeline area. There’s also a little “lock” icon below that timeline that, if turned off, it won’t follow the cursor when you move along the keyframe timeline as you move on the main timeline.

As a test, here’s what I did:
1. Add a clip to the timeline
2. Select a small area of the timeline, press “S” and “Delete” to create a hole – the hole remained selected
3. Opened a clip in the trimmer
4. Placed the cursor in the trimmer where I wanted it, pressed “I” and then pressed “A”Result: The hole was filled beginning with the frame the cursor was sitting on in the trimmer.

Right-click and drag the video to the timeline. Then when the menu options appear, select the “video only” option.

Hold down CTRL-SHIFT. Now start Vegas. Once Vegas has finished loading, release CTRL-SHIFT. That should reset everything to default settings.

I believe it *SHOULD* be able to import one now – but it would have to convert it down to SD to create the DVD.

I don’t follow the other products much. I’m not sure which ones might be capable of this.
