Inserting Vid From Trimmer
Hi,
I’ve been working with my trial version of Vegas 8 while I await the delivery of the real thing. I’m also working with DSE’s new book. Quick question: One of the tips says if you need to insert media from the trimmer window into an exact gap on the time line to highlight the gap on the timeline, activate the track, and mark only an in point in the trimmer window and not to worry about an out point. From here hit the A key on the keyboard. When I do this nothing happens. Firstly, does anyone know if this feature isn’t activated with the trial version? If it is, can someone point me in the right direction?

As a test, here’s what I did:
1. Add a clip to the timeline
2. Select a small area of the timeline, press “S” and “Delete” to create a hole – the hole remained selected
3. Opened a clip in the trimmer
4. Placed the cursor in the trimmer where I wanted it, pressed “I” and then pressed “A”Result: The hole was filled beginning with the frame the cursor was sitting on in the trimmer.
