I installed Sony Vegas on a machine with a blackmagic intensity pro capture card. When i try to capture from the card in Vegas I have to select “DV” capture and the preview comes for a second and then goes blue and says “please insert a tape” or something similar.

How do i tell it that im not using tapes, i just want to capture the input from the card?

    Cheers

Thanks, but my problem is not solved.

Could you confirm if i should be selecting the “DV” or “HDV or SDI” option while using a capture card.

With the “DV” option the preview comes up from the input we’re using but then vanishes a second later and says “please insert tape”

with the “HDV or SDI” option the preview screen just remains black

    any ideas?

    Cheers

[andy liggett] “input we’re using but then vanishes a second later and says “please insert tape””

    Turn OFF “device control”

It’s in Options – Preferences in the capture app.
