I dont even consider AE as full postproduction/filmproduction.
Because it basic tools like CC arent good enough!

AE is king in Motion Graphics. Nothing comes close imo!
Not even Motion with its 323milion presets.

Adobe did an OK job but they should have called it 6.8 instead of 7.0.
Cause beneath the new GUI isnt there much new stuff. And some old stuff like the Graph editor isnt fixed like it should be. Which imo is the basic of making good animations, specially in 3D.
    just my 2 cents

Mm I just saw that just using rotation of the camera ignores the point of intrest!
So basicly its free. Just no way of fully disable the POI.

LOL.. I’m the same way with Deadlines.
You need to be almost DEAD to do the best work.

    Thanx for the info.
Still we need a normal STROKE plugin 🙂
I think its strange no Third party packages does that!

    Cool.

I wonder why Adobe doesnt include the STROKE we know from photoshop!

In AE you always need a stupid mask! Why not just apply a stroke to the alpha and be able to choose in/middle/out stroke. And all kinds of strokes like square/circle ect..

Is there a plugin that does this?

    I’m not flaming!

I really love love love AE. It still has the fastest workflow for MotionGraphics.
But this keyframe issues are really starting to frustrate me because I really dont wanna move to DF.
DF is still not motiongraphic oriented but its graph editor is like it should be. ‘Normal’ 🙂

I just want to get a reaction from someone from adobe’s team.(are there AE programmers on this forum?)
Why adobe chooses this way of keyframe handeling. And if its technicaly hard to change it?
I was more than exited when I saw the 7.0 demo about the Graph.
But I just cannot describe how dissapointed I am right now. 🙁
So sorry if i seem flamish!

    Not a huge deal?
I’m gonna do a 2 minute project with 3D flythoughs.
With like lotsss of layers. And when I still got shitty keyframes controls, that is gonna cost some extra time/money.

I just wanna know if its so hard to change it like all the other programs work?

‘Full spline control on keyframes + independent channel keyframes’ is all I want. 🙂

    Hey

search my earlier posts about BEZIER splines!
    This makes me crazy to!
No bezier controls on the keyframes itself!
No ability to create keyframes on the CHANNEL you need (like X only, instead of XYZ at the same time)
No way of editing the splines from Y axis without affecting X and Z also!

Let me put it this way! Its a very very unprofessional graph editor!
And nobody seems to mind!. You cannot even do a simple bouncing ball. Because the X axis is affected by the Y’s velocity. Making it look like crap.

So something about it Adobe. Plzzz.

    I’m not whining!
    Its a fact not?

Hacking the preferences isnt a normal way of doing stuff. It should be implanted standard.
I really love after effects but this drives me crazy. I wish someone from adobe here would answer me about this problem.

Btw, is it only me or is a bouncing ball not possible like I showed few threads up?
Because Y velocity changes the X velocity also and this makes it look like crap!

Now it it just me or I’m I right?
A bouncing ball doesnt seem possible in AE?
Because you need to edit the Y motion. But since the X and Y are locked, the X takes over any bezier control you add to Y. While the X motion needs to be independent. (linear from left to right)

This is the way it should be possible!
https://fubar.fateback.com/lwgraph.png (copy/paste in browers if clicking doesnt work)

ps: You can do it with 2 null objects, one for X and one for Y. But that is just a insane workflow.
