January 25, 2006 at 2:10 am in reply to: Bezier handles in Graph editor?

    Played a little bit more.
Still dont see the ability of customizable beziers on the keyframes (not velocity).

We really need better keyframe controls, especially with all the 3D functions.

    Adobe:
-Why only linear, continous bezier, automatic?

-Why not able to only use keyframes on the channels that NEED to be keyframed? ex. If you move X position it creates still keyframes for Y and Z on that frame!!! = Clusters of keyframs you dont even need!!! Not very pro. (Look at other programs like Lightwave/Digitalfusion)

  • Seriously. That of the 2 dogs must be the simplest shot in the whole movie!
There is some amazing motion graphics going on there! :))

solution: use on a solid ‘vectorpaint – animated strokes’ and a trackmatte on top of the 2 dogs

  • sign me in for that one to!
Tracking is a strange thing in AE.

    Cant you use a TV-OUT?
Its mostly only S-Video, sometimes component if you are lucky!

FW is nice but you need a expensive converter. unless you use a DV-cam to convert the signal for you 🙂
But that is not really a pro solution.

Dont know about AE7, cause I dont have it.

Well if osx version is native for intel. We can compare soon who OSX and WinXP affect the speed!
Because than we can just use the same CPU for both systems + same benchmark!

That would be cool to see. And finally we gonna know who is fastest 🙂

    Super super info man.
    Thank you very much.

So to hell with Pci-X 🙂
    Gonna get me a Giga-Byte Quad Royal board with 4x Pci-E 🙂

Still they dont say anything about the Effects being 10bit!!
So I guess they are still 8bit! Makes Ppro useless with decklink.

January 17, 2006 at 11:53 am in reply to: COW Reviews: After Effects After Effects 7

    Ow well I’m almost dissapointed.
Especially when I read that opengl isnt working like it should be.
And the 3D engine is still not revamped! Come on Adobe!!
AFtereffects isnt the fastest program in the world, specially in HDTV.
So a SLI setup would speed up a great deal in previews or even rendering. Still no good support :((

I hope the graph editor works like a normal spline/bezier graph editor like in Fusion/Lightwave/…
Can someone confirm that? Or does it still work with velocity that nobody understands 🙂

I think the GUI will be a improvement.
So adobe lets make a quick 7.5 with full OpenGL support, better masking and a new 3D engine.

Seriously. You guys are only taking about the DL cards as being the fault of the unstability!

I mean I love adobe for its soft, but PPRO must be the most unstable program ever! Premiere alwas has been from version6 and up! So maybe its not BMD’s fault, but adobe. Think of that!

Try use vegas and see if you got the same problems with crashes or framedrops!

Sorry but imo Steve Jobs interpretation of REALTIME differs from mine!

I worked for 3 months on a dual G5 with FCP5. And it isnt NEAR realtime!
If some are UNLIMITED FX you do not get the FULL 10bit result on your monitor.
And FCP needs to render every 3 steps you do otherwise you are looking at lower res FX.

So please do not say its REALTIME!
