Man, I’ve been meaning to get to this issue. Especially since one of my projects is a half hour show, and insert edits are pretty much undo-able with this issue. One of my systems is frame on accurate (the Decklink Pro) with the same deck (DVW-M2000). My new Intel system (Decklink HD Extreme) has this first frame duplication issue. It’s a real hassle.

Although I do not have any hardware or software solutions, my work around has been creating a correct master sequence, duplicating it, then pulling up the entire sequence one frame at the very first frame of bars & tone.

Maybe someone from Decklink can chime in on this one.

Just got help on this one, but had to do with NTSC monitor being my third monitor….pretty cool, but not what I prefer.

Go into System Preferences and you should see a choice at the bottom under ‘Other’. Choose Decklink. Disable video desktop.

    Sometimes I wonder
    Where I’ve been
Who I am, do I fit in?
    Make-believing is hard alone
    Out here, on my own

Anybody? What if I threw in a free iPod…or a free FCP Studio package? Yeah right….come on…this forum is awesome. I read it every day….and my request was not out there nor asked too frequently.

Maybe I should ask how to do the Star Wars scroll effect and then I’d get an anwser.

    Sure it is.

Go into Sequence Settings and change the start of timecode so it matches the generator filter.

Black and code your tape with that time code. (Of course give room for pre-roll and bars and tone…do the math based on client specs)

Don’t know how long your sequence is….

why not export both an omf and QT with a two-pop? The ProTools engineer can then sync them accordingly.

You could even drop a time code window on your sequence before you export to QT.

    Using one since 1996.

Faster and more efficient editing and graphic design.

Go for it and don’t look back.

Could be ignorant on this one…but unable to find it…how about a simple plugin that can distress text…you know, break some of the edges, chip or sponge out some of the text face….that sort of thing

  • Works fine here…perhaps all of your AutoSelects are in fact, selected….highlight the AutoSelect of the track you wish to match frame and it should work every time, and on the head frame.
