hmmm. this worked awhile ago, but now it looks like i reconfigured my system improperly, though i can’t figure out what i changed…here it is.

my output/broadcast monitor is now acting like a second computer monitor, in that it shows the left side of my desktop when not in FCP. when in FCP, it acts as an external monitor, but i can’t see any of the effects of video filters, etc. on it. very odd. i’ve looked in the Blackmagic Decklink options in System Prefs, but no changes as yet. any ideas???

i’ve been doing the loop-through option on my UVW-1800 for sync and it was working fine. set up thusly: Y-out from Decklink card to Ref In on deck. other BNC cable loops from Y-in on deck to other Ref in on deck. Genlock In from Decklink to video in on deck. other video in on deck has nothing connected to it.

i would like to have this back the way i used to have it, with a single computer monitor, and my output monitor as an output/broadcast monitor only. thanks!

thanks for helping out a bonehead!

Just got help on this one, but had to do with NTSC monitor being my third monitor….pretty cool, but not what I prefer.

Go into System Preferences and you should see a choice at the bottom under ‘Other’. Choose Decklink. Disable video desktop.

thanks. i had found that one, and it got rid of my two-monitor set-up, but i’m still having a problem with freeze frames (mentioned on the FCP forum). also, i think i have a corrupted FCP project, even AFTER trashing FCP prefs, so not sure how to fix these little thingies…

thanks for helping out a bonehead!

    Hi,

If the video output does not update when you’re playing, it’s most likely a configuration issue with your Final Cut Pro project.

Check which easy setup you’re currently using, then hit opt-F12 to refresh the video playback.

    regards
