I’m trying to print a sequence to tape, but i need the timecode on the tape to be identical to the OMF that i just imported to Pro Tools. Hos could this be a possibility. I’m using a firewire controled Panasonic deck.

Is it DVCAM? Basic your tape first (black it and assign timecode on the deck itself).
You could do a partial black, then just assemble the rest (just remember to leave a chuck of black slug at the tail or black trailer when “mastering”)

I’m assuming that the OMF export to Protools contains the SAME master TC as your sequence within FCP, right?

If so, then black your tape with the same TC as your sequence (remember to give yourself a couple of minutes at the head if your sequence doesn’t include BARS/TONE, SLATE, etc.), then insert or assemble edit during your print to tape, making sure you line up the beginning of your sequence with the indentical TC on the tape.

    All the best,

Don’t know how long your sequence is….

why not export both an omf and QT with a two-pop? The ProTools engineer can then sync them accordingly.

You could even drop a time code window on your sequence before you export to QT.
