I’m on my PB right now which has FCP 5.0.4 and QT 7.1.3 on it. I can export an FLV with
ON2VP6 codec (Flash 8) right from FCP or QT Pro. I’m not sure if it’s because
I have Flash 8 Pro installed or if it comes with FCP and/or QT Pro, but I can do it.
Putting the flv into a swf is another process entirely.

A client put some web videos I did for them
up on YouTube and boy did they suck, but then
they subscribed to BrightCove and everything
got so much better. You’d think they would at least
not recompress stuff already in the right format, and
that they would allow On2VP6 by now.

I can only echo the comments of great tech support from AJA. The 2 times I’ve needed to call over the years got me to a real live human within seconds, and like the last post I had a replacement the next day (they pay for shipping one-way too).
Things may have changed, but back a few years ago when I was trying to decide between
BM and AJA, the guys at BM were not responding to e-mails, they weren’t answering questions in any kind of timely manner in forums, so that helped make up my mind.

And keep looking here too. Do a search, it’s been covered lots and lots of times.
If it’s the whole timeline you can raise the master gain. If it’s only a couple of clips
do as suggested in the previous post, or you can duplicate the audio clip which will increase volume.

That’s the problem. The MXO is the only product that meets all my requirements, assuming it did what it advertises that is. 🙂 Any other product out there that will output and monitor HD and SD, and is the size and weight of the MXO? I thought of the IOHD, but it’s bigger, heavier, and much costlier.
I do a lot of overseas travel, and often have the opportunity to stay longer in really nice areas, so I use the time to do rough edits of what I shoot. The size and outputs of the MXO are ideal. So, I’ll continue to complain that it doesn’t work as advertised, and it hasn’t for over 3 months.

Matrox has known that the MXO doesn’t work with the newest MBPs since July, they bought a MBP on August 2nd to figure out why it doesn’t work. It’s now 3 1/2 months since they’ve known it doesn’t work, and yet they’ve continued to market it as a MBP solution. They don’t show a MacPro in their ads, they show a MBP. I’d call that a pretty big issue. And I’m guessing that for the majority of FCP users, Color, which is included in FCS, is the CC of choice, so that’s a big issue too.

But for anyone with a recent MBP with the NVidia card, the MXO isn’t an option at all for now. I’ve put off buying a MBP until Matrox fixes the problem (which has gone on for months). The MXO also doesn’t work with Color or Premiere Pro CS3. Tehy say they’re working on it all, but it’s been months since the MBP w/NVidea card came out.

I have also been using it with my Octocore, since I have been waiting to see if I want to spring for another Kona card or IOHD for it. I really like my AJA products, but I do believe the days of needing machine control and tape ingest are disappearing quite rapidly. AND the beta drivers for the MXO are working in Leopard RIGHT NOW. “
