Sadly it is a bug, but I’m guessing it is the kind of bug that will be addressed in a patch rather than deferred to the next version. However, that is just my guess.

Please be sure to file a bug report.

That suprises me. I have used the Audigy 2 and the Audigy 4 with all versions of PPro and have never experienced the problems you describe.

Perhaps it is some conflict between the Audigy and other hardware you have?

At least you’ve found a solution. 🙂

I’m afarid I don’t know because I never use highly compressed footage as source material.

Hopefully someone else will have some recommendations. It would also be worth doing some research on the Internet.

Perhaps you have your monitor set to “Draft” or “Auto” quality.
