  • Problem with crossfading stills

Posted by Paddy Uglow on January 21, 2009 at 4:51 pm

    Hi,
I’ve got a number of Photoshop stills on the timeline which I want to crossfade between. If I drag the Crossfade from the Video transitions, it all looks good, but when I render or export, the crossfades stop working. I ended up overlapping the stills on different tracks and using the pen to ramp up/down the opacity. Very tedious.
Won’t the cross-dissolve work on stills? I’ve had the same problem when using jpegs.
    Enlightenment would be appreciated!
    Thanks – Paddy

Add an opacity keyframe to one of the stills involved in the transition. You don’t need to change the value of the opacity, the keyframe just needs to be present to work around this problem.

    Cheers

Thanks Eddie! That’s saved me a lot of stress.
So, is that a PP bug or does it make sense somehow?
    Thanks again

Sadly it is a bug, but I’m guessing it is the kind of bug that will be addressed in a patch rather than deferred to the next version. However, that is just my guess.

Please be sure to file a bug report.

    Cheers
    Eddie
