Any NLE worth its weight in salt can take a numbered sequence of stills and create video from it. PPro does this very easily.

Of course you can use it…as a doorstop.
But seriously, since it is likely to only have analog output connections you will need an analog to digital converter to get the footage onto your computer.
You can either buy an expansion card or you can use a digital camcorder to either pass through the signal or to record to digital media and then capture from that digital media.

Not that I’m aware of. You will need something like Adobe Audition to take a 6 channel file and split it into 6 mono files.

Use “clip markers” to have markers that stay with the clip. All other markers are sequence markers that stay where they are in the sequence.
It’s worth noting that if you nest a sequence in another sequence then the nested sequence’s markers work like clip markers.

Use a program like GSpot to interrogate the problem DV AVI file to be certain that it conforms to the DV standard.
Another thing to try is to open one of the problem clps in Windows Movie Maker and export (publish) it as DV AVI and test that file in PPro.
