Hey Eric,
I did the test, and after some messing with reference all went well.
I imported the OMF into DS and then followed your instructions. Only thing that is a little odd, is the offline sequence from the digibeta is 6 frames longer than my DS timeline. Any thoughts?
Otherwise it went very well.thanks again

Hey Eric,
thanks for cruising the posts so late at night. I have already output the digibeta, so I will give this a shot. Thanks so much for helping out. I’ll let you know how it goes.

Hey Brian,
I’ve had that error before on panasonic decks…it usually means your firewire card is cooked. For some reason I’ve been told that it is vitally important to have your machines powered down when connecting fire wire. We shorted our board on our sd-93 deck…tough lesson.

[Dino Sanacory] “Yup. Not yet a feature in 2.5. If you have it in 2.7 then that is where it first showed up as it is not in 2.6 either.”
Of course, that makes sense. Does anyone know when DNx 36 became an option in the Express Pro line?
thanks

Hey Michael,
thanks…I was checking on my Media composer(software only 2.5) and it doesn’t show up…but on the Media Composer Adrenaline 2.7 it shows up…I’m starting to think it was a software difference.
I will continue the search on that.
thanks again

Hey Terence,
Okay, so you would decompose the sequence, delete the clips & decompose again? I’ll give it a shot..
thanks again

Hey Terence, 2 things, 1st thanks for the talk at the Facilis booth at NAB, and 2 for taking the time to listen now.
Okay so, when you say “modify the sequence” I assume you mean taking the 29.97 EDL into EDL manager, then creating a 1080 composer Sequence, then decomposing, and batch digitizing. We did this and it worked except the audio that was output from the offline did not sync. We ended up doing a audio edit and it’s fine now.[Terence Curren] “Normally you would just modify your 29.97 sequence to a 720P sequence. Why aren’t you following this approach?”
When ever we did this for a 720p sequence, the Adrenaline would tell us to transcode the sequence, but then after that it would give us a framerate error for the batch digitize.
I’m missing something simple. We did get the piece onlined thru the 1080i workflow, so I will definitley take your saying to heart.
thanks…friend

Hey Michael
[Michael Phillips] “Did the 30i dubs have the same TC as the 720pHD original tapes?”
Yes
[Michael Phillips] “Did you try modifiying the 30i SD sequence in a 1080i project?”
Great idea! I did and will try the dig this afternoon. it looked like the sources came across correct. This does mean doing an upconvert from the DVCPro deck into the Adrenaline, but we get a 1080i master…great
[Michael Phillips] “In a 720p29.97 project, duplicate the SD sequence, put it into it’s own bin, right mouse click on the sequence, Modify, Set Format, select 720p29.97. This should create a new duplicate sequence with a 720p29.97 Format. Decompose the sequence to the desired resolution. Compare the 720p29.97 sequence to the SD sequence.”
I’ll take a look at this option if the 1080i solution doesn’t work.
