    Hello,

I’ve read elsewhere that some people capture footage directly from the HDX900’s firewire jack into their Avid. If anyone on this forum has managed to make that work would you please share the secret? When I connect the camera to the Mac and open the capture tool in Avid all that happens is a flashing message on the camera: E-1394.

    Thanks,
    -Brian

Not sure about AVID, but it works perfectly to my FCP.

    Hey Brian,

I’ve had that error before on panasonic decks…it usually means your firewire card is cooked. For some reason I’ve been told that it is vitally important to have your machines powered down when connecting fire wire. We shorted our board on our sd-93 deck…tough lesson.
