Yeah, I want to rotate each character independently. I have the option of rotating the whole text layer on all axes but not the individual characters.

Cool function but not exactly what I’m looking for. Sorry, I’m not explaining myself very well.

Basically here’s what I’m trying to do:
• I have a song on my timeline that has a specific beat where I want to make an edit
• I double click on the song to load it into my Source Monitor so I can see the waveform and quickly find the exact frame I want to make the cut on
• While still in the Source Monitor, I would then like to be able to use a keyboard shortcut similar to Match Frame to park my playhead on the same frame in the Timeline so I can make the edit

I’m trying to match a frame from the source monitor to a clip in the timeline with a keyboard shortcut. I assumed this would be the ‘f’ key as that is the Match Frame shortcut – however, it sounds like you’re telling me the Match Frame function only works going from the timeline to the source monitor?

Is there another name/shortcut for a match frame function for going from the source monitor to the timeline or does that just not exist?

Do the sheets have the same color balance and brightness or is the cut only visible because the folds/shadows in the sheet are different?

Can you post the transition as it is now? Might be able to give more feedback if we see it.

I customized my FCP7 keyboard to the point that nobody else could use it. I have a feeling I’ll do the same once I jump into Premiere. There are a lot of functions I use hundreds of times a day that I like to map to keys around JKL so I’m rarely hunting and pecking.

Only downside to this is you have to keep a copy of your keyboard setup in your email or on a thumbdrive if you’re going to edit somewhere other than your norm. But, if you’re not switching workstations all the time, I’d definitely suggest customizing it to however works best for you – no two editors work the same way and the default keyboard settings are rarely the best setup for anyone.

No, the iMac I’m looking at getting will support Thunderbolt but the drives themselves are more than I’m looking to pay.

For example, this Lacie Little Big Disk cost $419 and if configured in a Raid 1 will give me 1TB of working drive space. Compair that to the G-Drive I listed above which would give me 2TB of space for $460 and the TBolt is a little under twice as much.

Yeah, eSATA doesn’t makes sense, with the adaptor it’s roughly the same price as TBolt, not as fast, and not as reliable. So long eSATA.

Well, right now I’m still cutting on FCP and I need to have the ability to use FCPX if any clients require that and since Premiere, AE, and Avid all work on Macs too that’s where I have to be. I’m not happy about having to pay more for the hardware but I’ve been using Macs all my life and really prefer the OS to Windows.
