[Bob Zelin] “You can go onto ebay, and buy a wonderful 2009 4,1 Machine for about $1000, and then run modern cards and 64 bit software.”
I think you might be on to something here… Need to crunch some numbers but that’s probably the best way to go.
[Bob Zelin] “However, your 1,1 will work wonderfully in your office to print invoices, make labels, and let you surf porn on the internet. “
hahaha! At least it’s not completely useless. Thanks Bob

[Andrew Kimery] “I figure $2,000 towards any other Mac will yield a better ROI than trying to beef up a 7yr old machine.”
Yeeeah, I was kind of thinking the same thing but I don’t know if an non-upgradable iMac is a good choice either (especially since I have a 30″ Dell monitor and would rather not pay for the iMacs screen that I wouldn’t use).

June 5, 2013 at 5:26 pm in reply to: 3D Camera Tracker points disappear throughout sceneSorry Roland, I spoke too soon. The single point tracked perfectly. Thanks for suggesting, I would never have guessed that would have worked for this scene.

June 4, 2013 at 10:11 pm in reply to: 3D Camera Tracker points disappear throughout sceneThanks for the reply, unfortunately the single point doesn’t work for what I’m trying to do.
[Roland R. Kahlenberg] “…not necessarily a good thing if there aren’t sufficient points throughout the shot.”
Well that’s what I’m trying to figure out. I’m given a hundred or so track points and it’s really difficult to find which are persistant throughout the scene and which appear for just a second.
Does anyone have a workaround for this? Maybe track the first half of the shot, then the 2nd half and combine keyframes? Ugh… that doesn’t sound pretty.

May 7, 2013 at 6:30 pm in reply to: So After Creative Cloud, Is Anyone Reconsidering FCPX?I think the real question is: Do you need Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, Media Encoder, Audition, Speed Grade or any of the applications Adobe offers? If so, you’re going to have access to Premiere at no additional cost.
I, for one, can’t live without Photoshop and AE so this doesn’t affect my decision to move to Premiere.

I think the biggest problem is CC hasn’t been out for very long so people aren’t sure if it’s a good thing or not. If Adobe was to have waited a year on this when a lot more people have tried it, they could be the evangelist that Creative Cloud needs to convince every else it’s a good thing. Right now, even the people who are using it haven’t used it long enough to really sing it’s praises.

March 22, 2013 at 8:27 pm in reply to: Holding ‘K’ and advancing 1 frame at a time with ‘L’Well, I’m not having the problem anymore but I’m not sure what I did to fix it. I’m running OSX 10.7.5 right now and was running 10.7.4 before. Other than that I can’t think of what I would have changed.
It happens every once in a while now but a simple restart seems to fix it.

Just realized I hit Solution on two post instead of Kudos… doesn’t look like there’s a way to change that.
