Has anyone figure out how to get GPU acceleration to work with After Effects CC (or PPro CC for that matter) on an iMac?

I found the tutorial for getting GPU acceleration from the GTX 680 on AE CS6 here: https://youtu.be/TkyQaWZLEKw

Does anyone know of a similar tutorial for AE CC? I thought about modifying the text that is pasted into terminal but I don’t have much experience with things like this and would rather not break AE.

    Here’s what I’m working with:
    iMac: 27-inch, Late 2012
Processor: 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7
    Memory: 16 GB 1600 MHz DDR3
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680MX 2048 MB

If you right-click on the After Effects application icon and choose Show Package Contents you’ll see a file named “raytracer_supported_cards.txt”.

Open it in Text Edit and add the GeForce GTX 680MX to the list, save the file and you’re good to go.

If it complains that you don’t have permissions to change the file in the Finder select the file and from the File menu choose Get Info and enable write permissions for the file.

Thanks Ridley! Worked liked a charm. Renders are moving so much faster now.

The iMac GPUs (GTX 675MX and 680MX) have been added to the list of GPUs that After Effects CC (12.1) will use for GPU-acceleration of the ray-traced 3D renderer.
