I just tried another keyboard and had the same issue so I don’t think that’s it. If I find the answer I’ll let you know

I’ve been resorting to that but wish I didn’t have to. I customize my keyboard to the point where I can’t get anything done with the standard setup, I like having everything I use close enough to JKL that I never have to reposition my hands or take my eyes off the screen – it saves milliseconds I know, but for operations I’m doing hundreds of times a day, that adds up.

Interesting. I got it to work using your method but I realized that I had to keep the text size small, once it got past 100px that’s when the sphere started loosing it’s shape and becoming more pill like (see this image).

[Todd Kopriva] “The maximum bevel depth setting is not 10. That’s just the default maximum for the slider. You can type in a larger number. “
The bevel depth appears to max out at 100 though and for me that doesn’t round the corners enough for a sphere.
This is what I get with the Bevel depth set to 100:
Any thoughts?

[Preston Orrick] “Adobe should really have something easier in place. FCP6 is very easy for making a still frame.”
Agreed, a simple “Make Freeze Frame” option would be much more convenient. Adobe Feature Request

For those who think Avid will turn it around, are you investing in them? Stock is around $8 a share right now so if Avid rallys back there’s a potential to make a lot of money.
I think I’ll keep my Apple shares.

[Herb Sevush] “I can’t even get rid of my Beta SP deck.”
Ouch, I would hate that. I had to rent a Beta SP deck 2 years ago for nightly show I was doing covering NY Fashion Week, the issues I ran into laying off to tape were worse than having to get up at 6AM and edit until midnight. I made the decision then that if I ever work on a show that requires I deliver on tape that I’m outputting to ProRes and bringing a hard drive to a facility so they can do it there. Luckily, I haven’t had to touch tape since then.
I know a lot of people like tape or at least don’t have problems using it, for me, I’ll take digital files over tape any day. I think the majority of people agree with me and it’s only the facilities that can’t afford new hardware that are stuck using tape for the time being.

[Shawn Miller] “Crazy!! I wonder what professional previz artists think about this. For low budget and microfilmmakers, this could be huge. “
My thoughts exactly. I think the potential for disruption will happen when people can share/sell models they’ve created that can be imported into the Valve Source Filmmaker engine, that’ll opens up endless possibilities for creating quick animations. It won’t destroy the large facilities that have to do specific custom work for movies and tv but for anyone who’s ever watched Red vs Blue, I think the writing is on the wall that with a good story and this new software people can make some pretty cool content.
