Is there a way to view the Layer Styles or Transform options of a selected layer in a window other than the timeline? I’m basically looking for a way to have it work like the Effects and Presets window so I can view all the info without having to drop down so many arrows.

There’s no way to see Layer Styles (or for that matter Shape properties) other than the Timeline, however you could apply the Transform Effect (Effects > Distort > Transform) which gives you access to all geometrics and more.

I was hoping that wasn’t the case. I wasn’t aware of the Transform effect though, I might give that a shot. Thanks!

    A couple of other suggestions:

    • You can Cmd/Ctrl+click any arrow in AE to open all child arrows in one click.
    • In the timeline search bar, you can open the properties you want to see by adding a comma in between search criteria. For example, “pos, rot, sca, drop” opens position, scale, rotation and drop shadow properties.
