What he means is, is the timeline panel “active”, as in is it outlined in blue. If you try to export Media but the timeline or the program monitor is not highlighted, that option will be grayed out.

Excuse my ignorance but isn’t it easier to just apply the film dissolve? I’m not criticizing your technique, I’m an amateur. I’m just curious why you do it your way.

What’s the aspect ration of your .PNG files? When you create a project do you have the proper format set, out of that long list of formats? When I had my Nikon D5500 I set it to “DSLR” and it stayed that way. When I got the Panasonic G7 and started shooting 4K, at first I forgot to change the format, and it defaulted to RED Cinema, for some reason. Since it doesn’t have a specific 4K editing format I have to use “Custom”. If your defaulting to some format that’s 4:3, then there’s your problem right there.

Not only am I having the same problem but, as I think someone else mentioned, audio tracks which are fine in original form and play in Adobe Audition do NOT play in the Premiere Pro timeline. Here’s a screen grab of a scene where you can clearly see the peaks in the waveform, yet there is no sound playing inside Premiere Pro or in the encode.
And, no, I’m not talking about the flatlining audio track. I may be stupid but I’m not ridiculous 😉

No, that isn’t the problem. But I found out that, instead of right clicking the audio track, if I go by “Edit” on the menu bar, then it’s not grayed out. BUT, it then gives the choice of editing the entire sequence or just one clip, but clip is now grayed out. You have to edit the entire sequence. BUT, when you click on sequence, a dialog window opens with some more options, and when you click ok, the window closes but Audition STILL doesn’t open.
I tried opening Audition first, that didn’t work, but somehow I finally got a file to open in it, but there were 5 different files, not just the audio track I wanted to work on. Then, on the effects rack, there was no “Apply” button, then suddenly it appeared. I’m thinking that because you can send out files to AME to render, and it now includes a video window, using Audition is a whole new ballgame. I’ll check the Adobe tutorials. Or maybe just go back to cc 2015. This is all too complicated for what I do.

Here’s two more. Mind you, this doesn’t mean you’re seeing the same bugs. Probably aren’t since no one is responding, but here’s the latest from my end.
1. When I create a sequence, then drop it into my master sequence, up to 5-6 seconds at the end are getting cut off. I have to grab the end of the clip and drag to the right to get all of it to show up.
2. When I click on an audio track to edit in Adobe Audition, Audition is grayed out. I’ve tried even on original tracks (not Plural Eyes’d, not edited in any way) but it’s always grayed out.
