“BTW how/where did you play it back? In camera or in an editor?”

I played it back in the camera. I didn’t call the director’s attention to it, since I wanted to see for myself first if it would show me the slo-mo or not.

I appreciate the info. Yeah – it is confusing. Especially if it shoots at 60fps anyway. So I don’t know why I need to select that as an option, unless that has to do with the “flagging” where the NLE system removes the extra frames unless I DO shoot 60fps. I should take a Saturday and shoot a lot of variables and see for myself what I come up with.

    Thanks,

Thanks, Barry. I’ll pass that word onto the editor. And good to know for my own reference.

  • Best for me are the new Quad Interface 500GB LaCie drives (2 Firewire 800 connectors as well as a FW 400, a USB 2.0 and the new eSATA). They only cost around $250 through MacConnection.com. I just creat a folder with the client name and load the cards into it. When one drive is full I store it and put a new drive in its place. I have multiple clients on each drive so it’s very cost effective. The drives stack nicely and don’t take up much room.

June 6, 2007 at 6:27 am in reply to: AG-HVX200 HD Panasonic for $1699.00 – HOW?

“some components are probably not included…” No. You can rest assured that components will definitely NOT be included. You won’t have a Panasonic warranty, the printing on the camera may be in a foreign language, you won’t have batteries, a charger, remote or cables/connectors. You may be missing an owners manual. If you let them “sell” you these items it will be at a greatly inflated rate for products that aren’t even Panasonic brand (such as the battery).

This question comes up once every couple weeks. Search the other posts and you’ll find the same info.

So, if 30p was specified, would it adversly affect anything for me to change the format to 30pn to grab the slo-mo and then change back to 30p, or should I have done it ALL in 30pn?

And what would’ve been the difference between the two? I’m assuming it’s something, otherwise it wouldn’t be offered, right?

    Thanks, Rumpy.

For the record, in case someone is doing a search through the posts for this item, with Jan C’s help I was given part number VJF1468 for the XLR Cap.

To order online, go to https://www.pasc.panasonic.com/epartr/ and enter the part number in the search field on the left.

As of today, they are $12.08 each. I ordered 3. Shipping charge is $6.95 for orders between $25 and $50.

Yes – your math is seriously wrong. You’ve said, both in your original post and this most recent one, that you’re shooting “1 frame per second.” However, when you performed your calculation in this most recent post, you started with the rate of “1 frame per minute.”

I appreciate it, but I’m not looking for an alternative – I’m looking for the actual part.

I’ll call Panasonic on Monday. Someone there will be able to track down the OEM’s.

    Thanks, though.

My mistake, Shane. When you said “load the P2 driver…” I was thinking “load the P2 card.”

Brain fart. Need to finish my latte…
