I picture shows where I have marked off 3 events I want moved down into the timeline. Normally I have had to split off each one and move it down into the timeline. I don’t see how I can extract them and move them. Maybe the picture will clear up what I mean.

On my screen after I delete the top text track the next one is named video overlay then the next track is the main timeline video track for final deposit of my edited video track. I have been dropping a chapter into the overlay track, split off an event then move the event down into the video track. Find the the next one and so on. What I would like to do is mark off all the events in that chapter I want then all at once move them into the main video track. Also I find the trimmer useful by opening the event in the trimmer and move the cursor by the right and left arrows which make the picture in the trimmer time line move like the video preview window. This was discussed recently but I am sure you knew that.
Anything to speed things up is appreciated. I still have a lot of events to find and isolate in a movie.

    Hope to see you

Sorry your answer got sent to spam somehow. What I want is to select several events in one chapter on the video overlay (5 min)then move them to the timeline all at once. Now I split one off and move it then go back and do it again.

Fantastic! I knew it was something like this. It’s always grouped together and I never had the problem. Looking into locking had no solution and I didn’t know I had to look into “grouping.”
I’m not getting my notification in my email of answers which I will have to look into. Sorry for being late acknowledging your response.

It says to duplicate the track so I duplicated the track. Should I have isolated the frame I wanted to put the blur in? If so I will have to look into that

I am looking for the post with the screen shot. The duplicated track is the lower track. As I understood the directions I edit the lower track. Which I think is just the opposite of the sample you gave. But in either case I think there is enough basic help to allow me to finish blurring. I would like to know before we get off the subject is the editing on the copy or original no matter which is the upper track? Does it make a difference. If I blur the original upper track what is the purpose of the duplicate track? Does the blurring effect show in the video preview? I need to know that so I will be able to distinguish the blurring and where it shows up.

I told a new guy about the forum today. New to Sony vegas but old time videographer. He has both the 10 pro and the Movie maker 10. Which version I don’t know

I have one lousy film of Tenino and then I wont need blurring. If anyone answers this please answer all the questions So I can get off this subject.
I’ll be so glad to get over this!
    Have a nice day

I have created a window with a gaussian blur that appears in the fx window I made the blur large so I could find it if I find it when I find it. There are several frames in the window how do I put the blur in a particular frame?

Does the blurring show only in the preview window? Even though your blur is quite large how did you know it would be placed over the bear? I can see the coordinate settings but how do I know where in the picture they will show when I set them? The spots in my video I want to blur is much smaller than your example so setting them are much more critical. Thanks for your help.
