That seemed to do the trick. I saw the option to copy from a camcorder but didn’t know if it work on a CD drive. My trouble was I could copy the disk to my hard drive but could not find the files with vegas to import them. I need to delete the un-necessary files because the entire disk was imported looks like. I did see mention of a program that should let me take excerpts from a disk which I will have to look into. Thanks a lot for your help

NO I just copied the movie into my computer then the extension is .vob. But Sony does not see it I suppose. I didn’t change anything. I see others talking about vob files so suppose sony does read them. But I could find no way to get the movie into vegas 9
