Well I got the text event to show but don’t ask me what I did. Something over in the top right. But I got enough info to probably allow me to muddle though this phase of trying to make vegas work. Thanks

When you say “dialog” I presume you mean what I use to do the editing of the text in the media, If so it is not under the start bar at the bottom of the page. If it is docked I suppose you mean what I am looking for is somewhere on the page but how do I identify it? What is it’s name? I clicked on every unknown pixel on the page almost looking for it. I have laptop with Vegas 9 too but it comes up with the same problem. Sample text in the trimmer window but no way to edit it. Some days ago I did put some text in a media event but cant remember why it showed up then but not now. I would just as soon make the text overlay the video but I cant even do that I don’t think. I managed to overlay some text the other day but the transparancy was wrong so just blocked the video out. You would think Vegas would have something about this in the help but I have not found it yet. I can run the procedure for inserting text found in help but still run into this. Thanks for trying to help/

Sounds like a good answer to my problem. I’ll go give it a try.

I am wrapping up a couple years of getting my pictures, film and Tape onto DVD computer and so on. . Now that BD is available I am wondering not only is it worth the effort but how much better can I expect to make by say making my old film and tape reproduced on BD. I am pretty sure it would not be worth the effort to actually try to make the old film on BD because some of it is 40 to 80 years old now. But quite a few years ago I converted the film to videotape. I then put that tape on DVD. That was part of my project to get all this on DVD. Film, tape, and still pictures. I could put that tape on BD but how much improvement would I get. On the other hand what is the best procedure to get the best BD quality? I could re-do some of this if the results would be worth it. Have a nice day

OK thanks I got it. I have the platinum pro 9. To remove the loop double click on the loop which removes loop then the area turns blue so then click on a clear area and the screen returns to normal. Don’t know how I got into this as I didn’t have any looping in mind. But this is brand new to me so I will have to learn everything.

Whats your opinion of the capability of bleeping out offensive words? Is it easy? I suppose it has something to do with expanding the time line. Also how about covering small areas of the screen when objectionable things are shown? I’m not into pornography but a have some film of old time rock festivals I may put on youtube if I can clean them up. Yes, Woodstock was not the only rock festival in the country.

    Have a nice day

I don’t really want to delete the portion of the event just the markings of the loop.

There appears something else going on. The delete button deletes the event. clicking on the looping area removes the shaded area then delete makes it disappear. Something else is going on because the video track is in the middle between the text and video overlay and i couldn’t even get a looping area designated. Next time I will go to the delete window and see if it or the event disappears. You would think that these brilliant people could figure out that newcomers to their program might need to know how to stop looping and go to something else. xperts don’t need this help. But I just paid 125 for this thing and will continue until I can make some sort of a movie. I got rid of it by quitting the program without saving changes but of course when I get into serious editing I cant do that. Have a nice day.

This is just a loop in the timeline. You designate s section in the time line.Just one of the editing functions. But I don’t want it there any more. Take one of your projects, select a portion for looping then when done how do you remove it from the timeline.
