Select the clip in the browser, then check the Info tab of the inspector – could it be you’ve got the Active Video Angle set to the audio track?

I just EOL’d an Areca 8050 T2 (RAID6). It was most recently connected to my M1 Mini through Apple’s TB2-3 adapter, which I’d highly recommend. Get them directly from Apple. Lots of counterfeit junk on amazon.

Just a quick FYI – Carbon Copy Cloner does not charge a monthly fee. One-time purchase (for current version), with free point updates, and upgrade pricing when/if you want the latest. Definitely not a subscription model, and I dare say a very generous trial mode.

Not affiliated with Bombich, just a long-time satisfied customer.

Bug is now fixed (10.6.3). You may now return to your previous transitional behavior.

Check System Preferences… could be that you’re triggering a gesture or accessibility feature with the trackpad.

I keep checking back periodically, in hopes that this once-great resource might get back on track, but hope grows dim.

Search results are still an un-sortable, random pile of uselessness.

    Hi Ted,

You may not have intended to detach audio, but that is what happened here. Expanded audio / components will stay directly below the source clip, and yours have dropped below the primary.

Attached is a screenshot of the keyboard shortcut that bit you.

You can press & hold the ‘Z’ key, then click & drag with the mouse to get into the desired area quickly (then just released the key and mouse button at the same time).

This feature was recently showcased by Ripple Training: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eya66DogDqs

It’s not exactly what you were asking for, but maybe it’ll be a good stopgap.

It isn’t likely to be a transcoding issue, but without an actual sample of the artifacts you’re seeing, we’re just guessing.

January 11, 2022 at 7:38 pm in reply to: Will a RAID 0 help me much with editing a big project?

RAID 0 should be faster, as an individual standalone SATA III spinning disk will top out at about 150 MB/s.

HOWEVER – Setting up a RAID 0 with 2 drives in a toaster is BEGGING for disaster. Like, knocking on Disaster’s door with a giant hammer. Don’t do this.

I’d suggest investing in a new enclosure with at least 3 drives for a RAID 5 setup, and keep the original drives as backup.
