FCP Timeline Zoom In Shortcut – How??
Hi – does anyone know if there is a way to create a shortcut to zoom-in to the timeline based on a time duration timeline width? For example, if I want to see a 6 second width in the timeline, I’d like to create a shortcut to jump there instead of hitting Command + repeatedly. Currently when I review my video I Zoom to Fit and play through the timeline. If I want to make an edit at the cursor point I’d like to stop playing and hit a shortcut key to jump to a specific zoom-in period to make my edit. I find myself typically using about a 6 second width but would be nice to set that in the shortcut (like a Shift-6 for a 6 second timeline width zoom-in). Thanks!

You can press & hold the ‘Z’ key, then click & drag with the mouse to get into the desired area quickly (then just released the key and mouse button at the same time).
