Unfortunately, there is nothing in Vegas, nor a third-party plug that will do this. Extracting the audio for a tool like Combustion or After Effects is easy, but you’ll need one of those tools to create the effect you’re seeking.

~if you don’t have a DVD burner, get one.
~edit your slideshow or video timeline
~insert DVD
~Tools | Burn disc | Burn MPEG 2 (If you’re using VMS, use “Make Movie” and use the DVD templates)
~Set the bitrate as high as 8Mbps
~BurnIf your images are large, or if they’re TIF files, expect a long burn time, because they’ll absorb a lot of resources.

USB reassigns resources on a whim. This is why 1394/Firewire/iLink is the ONLY supported capture mechanism other than SDI.

It’s no big deal to mix them. Many today do.
It can even be used as an elemental design, going from one to the other.
Old school thinking says you can’t have mixed aspects or even image sizes that are similar. New school says “why not?” Our ADD world is comfortable with seeing vertical, diagonal, and mix size/shapes in broadcast.
Pitching a second track beneath the 4:3 media that fills the pillar boxes with something interesting is commonly seen. Our typical method of dealing with this is to use the same video, one expanded to fill a widescreen and set to blur, desaturated. It makes for a matching backdrop, and works very well. I’ve noted ESPN doing this a lot lately with old footage as well.
I’d recommend starting with a wide aspect project so that you’re not chopping down your widescreen content, and fill beneath your 4:3 aspect content.Douglas Spotted Eagle

I haven’t read the entire thread
but will say that I have zero issue running Vegas 7/8 on an older MacBook Pro with Bootcamp. Parallels won’t work, but it’s of little consequence to me. Douglas Spotted Eagle

If you’re putting large stills on the timeline, I’d expect freezing. You have 4GB of RAM, but Vegas can only access a portion of that, then you put on a few 8MB stills…it’s gonna choke. First thing I’d do is a batch convert of the stills to a smaller size.

Based on your descriptions, I don’t feel this is at all a Vegas-related problem. Vegas only mimics the Themes you have selected, and that includes fonts.
I don’t think you’d need to reinstall windows, but you might try a repair install of windows. I’d also recommend turning on System Restore for your Boot drive, at the least. I don’t use SR for other drives, but for the Boot drive…it’s a good plan.
Try setting your theme to “standard” or “default” and see where that gets you.
Be sure fonts aren’t set to 120%, this can cause problems for some plugins.Douglas Spotted Eagle

In re-reading your first post, I’m still not seeing where you specified that you have already created bullets in Pshop.
In this case, you have no option but to two-track it. Bullets on one, titles on the other. I’d still layer the titles, but that’s my workflow. YMMV.
Premiere Elements has an elegant Pshop workflow, no doubt. Both are Adobe products, so it’s expected.Douglas Spotted Eagle
