It should play, but depending on the codec used, it obviously won’t. Quicktime isn’t a codec, it’s a wrapper around a codec. Look at the “About this movie’ properties, learn the codec, report back. There might be a third party decoder.

Project set to 720 x 480 DV
Pan/Crop all files to match aspect ratio.
That’s about it.
You HAVE to crop, because if you squeeze, you’ll make fat people normal, and normal people very thin, and everything looks weird. Stretching pixels by a few values is usually indetectable, depending on the shot, but squeezing by this much…you won’t get away with it.
Hence the phrase “shoot for film but frame for television.”
That said, you can always take a project back to wide once you’ve cropped it to 4:3.

I’ve gotten the 320 x 240 iPod files to play on the Ericcson? Only had one for a few days..

Go back to the old clip browser. Or get Shotput. CB2.0 has….issues.

Because of the way the files are wrapped. had the SDK been available to everyone when the EX was launched, then perhaps Vegas could have read the files. But that wasn’t the case.
Re-wrap doesn’t add any time to the mix, it merely means you can’t edit off the card in Vegas right now.Douglas Spotted Eagle

MPEG is not an optimal format, but converting ripped MPEG to avi won’t improve the quality of the video, only the speed at which you can playback/edit. If your machine is slow, it may not efficiently playback MPEG content on the Vegas timeline, particularly if you’re using older versions of Vegas.

another major cause is attempting to capture with the capture window open to a large preview. Size it down smaller, this might fix the problem.

You’ll be able to change out the template at any time, but your editing template should be the HDV 1080/60i template.
From there, you’ll be able to create both SD and HD discs.
they’ll save as .vf (video factory) files in the project mode, and you’ll want to use the supplied render templates in the “Make Movie” dialogs to assure BD compatibility.
