Open two instances of Vegas. In one, open the old project, in the other, open the new project.
Select the clips you desire in the old project, copy them (singular or as a group) and paste them into the other instance of Vegas.FWIW, avi is NOT a lossless format unless you use an uncompressed codec. Even this isn’t necessarily lossless as some chroma subsampling does occur.
avi is merely a container, like a brown paper bag. you can put a lot of various groceries (aka “codecs”) in that paper bag.Douglas Spotted Eagle

mp4 isn’t the same across the board. It may well be that the stream can’t be read by Vegas. Vegas 6 isn’t likely to open an mp4 of any flavor. What is the source footage from?

Right click and change speed in properties, use a velocity envelope and set to desired value, and/or use a combination of both fro desired effect.

Options | Preferences | Thumbnails.
Reset it from the default Head/Center/Tail to ALL.

Visual timecode doesn’t do anything for you other than provide a visual reference point….
The only way I can think of that you can do this on the cheap/free, is to send the audio to a recorder that has BWF ability, re-import that audio to Vegas with timestamps, and use a tool like Majax to extract the LTC.
I’m not aware of software that generates LTC, although it may well exist. We have several MOTU devices that manage MTC to LTC, perhaps you can rent/borrow from a local studio or house. Or have someone generate a track for you locally, it won’t take long.Douglas Spotted Eagle

I haven’t done multi in 9 for XDCAM, but it should be the same as 8?

what are you attempting to control with Vegas? Hardware? Software?
There are many virtual MIDI routers, and there are many MIDI to SMPTE converter/controllers for hardware.

Vegas 6 doesn’t support AC3 on the timeline.

why are you not exporting as AVCHD or MPEG 2 for Blu-ray? You’ll get a much better encode letting Vegas manage the encode vs using DVD Architect.
