Recently my Sony Vegas 6.0b stopped loading these files. I cannot figure out why this is because i have always used MPEG4 and .m4a files before hand and not had any issues. Is there something that could be stopping these from working that i can fix? Any help will be appreciated 🙂 Thanks

I am having the same problem in Vegas 9 and 8. I wonder what is causing this.

mp4 isn’t the same across the board. It may well be that the stream can’t be read by Vegas. Vegas 6 isn’t likely to open an mp4 of any flavor. What is the source footage from?

If you have iTunes and have downloaded the newest version, you also got the latest version of QuickTime and this has been causing grief to a lot of Vegas users.
The only “cure” that I know of is to un-install the newest version of QT and find and install QT 7.6.2 (last known good one).
The trade-off is that iTunes will no longer work as it needs the newer QuickTime 🙁

Thank you very much, Mike Kujbida. That worked very well and I can now resume making music.
