Discovered it last night about 11pm trying to desperately to get to bed for an 6am wake up.
It is not a filter, it is in the audio inspector, go to the sub menu “Enhancements” and turn the little radio button. That will take you to a “sub inspector” and what I think you are looking for will be at the top. Apple calls it “Loudness”.

[Andrew Richards] “This is an excellent argument in favor of Apple continuing to produce the Mac Pro. It does not however support the idea that Apple would benefit at all from outsourcing workstations to their biggest rival in the PC space.”
Anybody here been in the business long enough to remember the Ampex label on a SONY BVW-75 Betacam SP deck. Never understood that one either.

I had no idea that it was built into the program.don walker

[Oliver Peters] “Of course, the crux of the issue is that you can’t detach the audio in the multicam clip and slip picture independent of the sound, as had been possible in 7.
“Big annoying Bug! (or is it a “Feature”?) I actually have confidence that this will be fixed in the next update.

A 17″ MacBook Pro with a 1TB drive in place of the Superdrive would be the cats meow for me. OWC is also offering 16GB of Ram for the current version model of MBP. That would beat my 2008 8 core, hands down.

Gary,
I was not thinking in terms of personal use, a 16GB iPad 2 would suffice for me personally. I was coming from the standpoint of a device that we could use on a professional basis. If I could use an iPad connected either directly to a camera or through an i/o to create ProRes files in the field and then do a rough edit on that device, i think it would be awesome, hence my desire for much larger storage.don walker

David,
Thanks for your answer…… I have been in visiting my sons at college all day so I just got around to reading it. I got a lot of soul searching to do, because like Michael Gissing, I too would also like to use Resolve someday, which would preclude both AJA and Matrox.Michael, I would love to have a Kona 3, but like I mentioned above, I have a lot of pro’s and con’s of each board to evaluate, before I make a decision.

David,
Are you a Matrox user? I have been an AJA fan, despite the higher cost, because of their great product support. Now because my LHe is not supported, and I believe that FCPX will become my NLE of choice, I am looking at buying a new I/o device. The Matrox devices intrigues me, because of the ability to have the Compress HD option integrated into the i/o as opposed buying it as a separated PCIe card.
Are there any significant reasons not to go with Matrox as opposed to AJA?don walker
