This is correct. The GUI and workflow for XPro, Media Composer and Symphony (even HD version) are the same.
Media Composer has paint, animatte, better keyer, more resolution option and some minor GUI features.
Symphony adds a deeper color correction toolset.

Nitris is a finsihing box. It handles projects that is heavy with composite and graphics (commercials, high end corporate, major TV show, etc.).

Surely you jest? Apologies if you found that offensive but that is the reality from what I experience.

    How did you do it?

  • If you can’t make that much editing to pay for equipment, MC pricing is the least of your trouble.

You need to get someone who is comfortable with Unity and check if you have any drive errors (or failures).

You may need to restart Unity if you have not so for a while. You may need to rebuild specific workspaces (especially if the problematic media are from the same workspace).

Once it is safe, I suggest optimizing.

SpectreMatte is very good. It works in 10 bit and can be in RT.

Its possible. I do it all the time.

What he needs to do is Autosync or Group clip your subclips. You can now rename it.

You where just selective in the comparison. You obviously highlighted some of the weakness of the Avid (although I agree you have somethign wrong with your Avid). There is no highlighting of the FCP weakness like media management, the unusual speed FX, project vs bin file, no Core Video, more RT in Avid, preview lower layers without losing render, etc.

Also, FCP is much more laggy once you have big projects. Switching between sequence grinds FCP in to a halt – especially on large timelines (horizontal or vertical)

Except if you used one of the Apple only codecs like HD and DV50 – then there is no difference.
