So we have a 15 terabyte Unity system that just started having problems with offline media and relinking isn’t working reliably. We know the footage is there because it relinks sometimes and then a few minutes later its gone. We have also seen whole clips with just sections of media offline on top off what is happening. We are working in one master project with about 300 bins right now and we have about 20 workspaces in 4 groups mounted. I’m waiting for the editors the leave tonight so I can troubleshoot this situation. I’m wondering if its the database files that are corrupt and whether we should just delete them all and have Avid rebuild them, optimize the workspaces, or stop and start the file manager. If you guys have any insight into this problem I would be eternally grateful. We have an hour show planned for the 29th and this could become a serious problem.

You need to get someone who is comfortable with Unity and check if you have any drive errors (or failures).

You may need to restart Unity if you have not so for a while. You may need to rebuild specific workspaces (especially if the problematic media are from the same workspace).

Once it is safe, I suggest optimizing.
