Hey question, Ive used the cinestyle but my footage was heavy with grain so I stopped. Any advice on how to get the best quality out of cinestyle?

  • Hey, I was wondering if you used a filter to get the lens flare. I would like to setup a music video and use lens flare for artistic purposes but Im unsure of how to do it. I have a 50mm 1.8 and a tamron 28-70mm lenses to use.

Hey thanks for getting back to me. I had downloaded a 30 day trail of Corel Dvd moviefactory and it didn’t accept the file. I will look into dvdlab. I just need something basic, basic menus etc. Thanks again.

never mind I got. Apparently the file was imported as video media. When I changed the video track to image the selection for 3d container was available.

Thanks Jon for getting back at me. I did the same as you, created the text then added the filter so that the filter is inside of the text track. It has to be an error on my part then. I’m going to take another look at it again.

On a side note, does boris happen to have anything similar to the puppet tool that is in AE?

hmm, think I will hold off shooting with this until I shoot some sample footage. I understand its suppose to be flat its just the noise I have in the footage, even on my outside shoots. Could be something I’ve accidently done. Doing some research I have seen that others have had the same issues with extra grain/noise in their footage as well.

thanks for getting back to me. I seen a couple of videos where others mentioned some grain issues. One person said he doesn’t use it in low lighting situations. I think I will pass on using it. It may have been my error with some of my footage but I prefer to just leave it alone.. thanks again

wow thats really tough to say. Everyone has their own opinion on what they think is the best and who knows aobut 10 yrs or even 3 yrs from now. It comes down to what you feel works for you. Personally i can edit on anything. I played with Adobe and it was cool, and i played with FCP and it was cool too. All have there good and bad points. I would say download Avids 30 day free trial and see how you like it. There are a number of tutorials from a former liquid user that can get you up to speed. If you don’t like it go with FCP. With the price Avid is giving it is hard to pass up and it works on PC or Mac so you are covered both ways. if you do buy and don’t like it sell it for like 1200, thats a steal for anyone looking to buy it and you can make a lil change in return.
