Avid Liquid to Media Composer Upgrade
Not sure if all have heard but Avid is offering a $495 upgrade for registered Liquid users to Avid Media Composer. This includes the 3rd party bundle. It is my understanding that there are 200,ooo registered users but a small fraction have taken advantage of the deal. I highly recommend you check this out. There is a 30 day trial that is fully functional for you to try. Just wanted all we haven’t heard to know

I’m one of the 200,000 thinking of upgrading but I keep hearing about the great Final Cut. I had to use FC in college a bit and I found I did not like the workflow it was tedious.
Should I go with Adobe then? I hear Adobe is coming along and perhaps will catch up with FC and MC.
What will be the best NLE system 10 years from now?

wow thats really tough to say. Everyone has their own opinion on what they think is the best and who knows aobut 10 yrs or even 3 yrs from now. It comes down to what you feel works for you. Personally i can edit on anything. I played with Adobe and it was cool, and i played with FCP and it was cool too. All have there good and bad points. I would say download Avids 30 day free trial and see how you like it. There are a number of tutorials from a former liquid user that can get you up to speed. If you don’t like it go with FCP. With the price Avid is giving it is hard to pass up and it works on PC or Mac so you are covered both ways. if you do buy and don’t like it sell it for like 1200, thats a steal for anyone looking to buy it and you can make a lil change in return.
