Hey I had avid dvd authoring program. When I recently did a reintstall of my O.S. it no longer will activate. Im not getting much help from Avid or Roxio/Sonic. I don’t do many dvds but I still need this function. Any suggestions on a dvd program that will accept Avid QT references so I can just export out of the editor and go directly into the authoring program.

    Thanks

Any program should accept QT reference files as long as you have the Avid Codecs installed. To the DVD program they should look like ordinary QT files.

Before we abandoned Avid and went with Adobe, I authored DVD’s with DVDLab. For simple DVD’s with a menu, it’s a bargain.

Hey thanks for getting back to me. I had downloaded a 30 day trail of Corel Dvd moviefactory and it didn’t accept the file. I will look into dvdlab. I just need something basic, basic menus etc. Thanks again.

Is the original media still on the Avid system? And it might be a dumb question, but are you authoring the DVD’s on that same system?

Hmmmm…guess Corel never built in Avid codec support.

We have had persistent problems moving media between Avid Media Composer/Symphony Nitris and Avid DVD using QT Reference files. I suggest using a normal QT file, which always works on our systems.
