I have had the same issues – have you found a fix for this?

Ron,
I am having similar issues…. did you find out any more info on this?
Thanks,

It could be your video card(s) as well, if you have a better video card, it will play your HD footage back much smoother and at higher resolutions.

How do I change the letter of my drive? when I plug the drive in my desktop, it comes up as “H” drive…. when I plug it in my laptop, it comes up as “E” drive….
any way I can tell my laptop to read it as “H” ?
Thanks,

Thanks John,
That looks good! and I can customize the sizeMan- I am struggling picking up this Sony Vegas- I have edited w/premiere for the past 5 years and edited for broadcast TV with Final Cut Pro for the past year.
I build a personal PC at home (64 bit ultimate, intel 6600 2.4 quad processor, 8gb gskill ram, etc) and I was thinking of switching over to vegas to edit on the 64 bit platform. I downloaded trial of SV8, and I am having trouble customizing the keyboard, it seems pretty complicated- is the keyboard customization covered in your dvd series? if so, what disk?
Or is there anyway I can import my saved keyboard configurations from fcp or premiere?
I like to have my keyboard like a mix of premiere and FCp defaults
a -aarow
c- cut
+/- zoom in or out of timeline
j- rewind
L fast forwardany words of wisdom on this ?

whoops, I just read some threads on the SV basics forum and I guess I should be posting this there.
Pretty much, I want to post videos shot and edited in HDV onto Vimeo.
I would also like to try to export some videos in 1280×720 to be played on a “regular” website with their hosting service, therefore I’d like to have the highest quality picture, but with the fastest loading time and smallest file size…
anyone have any tips on the best way to do this? one for vimeo and 2 for regular streaming video?
Footage is shot on an xh-a1 and edited on sony vegas 8.
Thanks,

if you shoot to a firestore it eliminates the picture and audio issue?
If you get the FS, you can use that with your next camera too. and you wouldnt have to spend a couple hundred to get it serviced….

dang, time to upgrade dude :p, just kidding.
Send it in to canon, they should be able to fix it. It’ll pry take a few weeks and a couple hundred bucks, but they’ll have it back in almost new condition.
Or, just buy a firestore, it’ll cost slightly more than the repair, but its probably a better solution (just buy plent of hard drive space on your comp to back everything up!)
I had to have my GL2 serviced twice (i’ve owned it since 04) and haven’t had my xh-a1 serviced yet (less than 1 yr old)
