When I lay down a new clip (or cut) to the timeline, the playhead goes to the end of the newly cut clip, which I think is what you want? Perhaps you can describe what you want to see and we can try to help you out.

There is a search field in the project panel directly for you to type in and in any separate bins that you open up.
Also, if you go into Keyboard shortcuts, go to Panels>Project Panel>Project Panel Menu and you will find the ‘find…’ command. Assign it to whatever keyboard shortcut you’re comfortable with.

Same project in previous CC version could do it but the new one refuses to import the same exact file.”I quickly rendered out a QT file with alpha and brought it into Premiere Pro. It worked just fine. In fact, we added a transparency grid option just like AE for Premiere Pro 2014.

Again, there are no problems generally with playing back audio and performance. Also, posting with some basic system specs is much more helpful in getting a response.
Here are a couple of tips to try:
1 – clear your media cache
2 – trash your preferences
3 – If applicable, update your graphics drivers to the latest

Adaptive Audio tracks are primarily for cameras that record more than 2 channels of audio and is generally used most when needing multi-channel audio output from your sequence.
If you’re outputting your sequence to stereo, you can probably use Standard tracks (which can contain either stereo or mono material.

Assuming you have Audition, send the edit (or the clip’s audio) to Audition and have it remove the offending noise. There are a few tutorials on this, but here’s a couple to look at that may put you on the right path.

To echo David’s comment, my own personal testing and use of Premiere Pro CC vs. CS6 I noticed a considerable difference in performance of longGOP codecs such as avcHD and H.264 Canon material. I would characterize the difference in scrubbing (the hardest aspect of it) from ‘below adequate’ – CS6 to ‘pretty decent’ in CC versions.
When you consider how difficult and how temporally complex MPEG4 really is, I’m usually pretty impressed. Scrubbing = frame blending GOPs on the fly in faster than real-time

Encore is still available and while I understand perhaps the intent of saying the product is ‘end of life’ it is important to note that it is in fact not and still a part of Creative Cloud for most folks.
I am often asked the question, “Why don’t you add more features to Encore?” I usually respond with this question, “What would you like me to add?” Because, Encore is cross platform 64-bit application, uses Photoshop’s PSD format for menus, supports DVD and Blu-ray, has decent navigation logic, uses the timeline metaphor, supports multiple clips in a timeline (somewhat unique), and even supports some relatively advanced features like blu-ray pop-up menus. Now, I’m sure some folks can actually chime in with feature requests, but my point is that Encore is a) still there b) supports 99% of users with their needs.

I think the issue is that Red Giant needs to update their plugin to support 2014. They published a note here: Red Giant Compatability
