what are you laying the file off too? -18/-20db is pretty typical 0vu ref. is it your peaks or program levels? and i must ask is there a built in limiter on the deck..

Try Blackmagic Photo Jpeg easy setup, just change your capture and sequence settings from 75% to 100%. That codec is actually pretty good, and if that doesnt work i’d down grade your BM firmware..

I have had issues with 720p59.94, but in FCP you can slip the tape by a field(i know there are no fields in 720p) like the old Soundmaster Editor does. I however am having issues with 720p59 D5 to HDCamSR, the video is coming in on f2. I know there are no field identifiers in 720p(my head keeps going back to that)but still im scratching my head..??

just make sure you are running raid 1 across the entire raid frame, i’d have at minimum 4 drives per side and you’ll be fine.

You need to capture VANC line 9 thats where the captioning live’s and aja doesnt support (giant gripe aja!!) the vertical blanking. Blackmagic does though love em or hate em we bounce HDcamSR’s and D5’s all day with 708 captions off our mac..

i’d bet it doesnt detect cadence breaks.. try “JES Deinterlacer” it will detect cadance breaks and its freeee..

well it seemed to work, find your TC track in properties(apple J?) from your BM source copy it and paste it into your new aja codec’d file, but i take no responsibility for your computer exploding…
