Correction in my original post, most vhs/dvd players only sent s video signal ,(I dont know where I got USB from!) from the DVD player, not the VHS. I must find a VHS player that sends a signal via the s-video output jack, correct?

OK, so as far as connections- VHS machine to camera via s video, that means what ever cam I use has to have a s-video input. Then Cam to computer via firewire, correct?

    And what about Question 1?

    Thanks for your reply!

Its only on certain clips, if I dont use the clip, I dont have the problem. I havent tried recapturing but that sounds like the problem.
I’m using a Sony TRV 140 , just an inexpensive dv cam.
I’m just learning so I think I need to read up on dropped frames , why they happen.
    Thanks again.

Not really, I saw a video where ,at the end, the screen squeezes to the right and the credits rolled up the left of the frame. So I started tooling around with that effect useing keyframes . I ‘m new to editing so I thought I could just experiment and learn a little. The keyframes are kind of hard to figure out ,(doing what I was doing). I discovered that you had to kind of, think in reverse. But thats another topic.
I am concerned about the “mini crash” with my system. Did this happen because the actions I was performing are very labor intensive?
    Thanks , Dean
