if you disable F4M you should be able to re-enable it in via system prefs

(we are working on a better system for streaming but this one that we used is free for us to use cause of where we hold the meeting)
Did you get a chance to watch it Mike?

[David Roth Weiss] “[Shane Ross] “Sorry, it is what we have to do to control spam.”

    Doesn’t signing up create spam?”

    NOOOOOOOOO
only if I ever give out your info (which I would never willingly do)
I hate spam as much as the next guy (without the contols on the site I get about 10-20 pornogrphy spams posted to the a day)

I tried having the download section uncontrolled however some people spoiled it as they tried to download the same files 1000x in a row (repeatdly clicking on the link) bandwidth went up . . . server went down . . . so I had to put in some control’s
plus I can let people know if there are ever major updates

    >1. Mixed codecs/resolutions in the same timeline
    >2. Saved project includes setup
    >3. Subframe audio editing
    >4. Direct import of image sequences (with direct update within Photoshop)
    >5. Individual track height
    >6. Ability to color video and audio tracks on the timeline
    >7. A decent titling program

you can do 3, and 5, already
and as for number 7 there is both Livetype and Motion included now and the basic Text generator does a fine job for basic titles

August 31, 2006 at 10:35 am in reply to: Dell 24-inch Display as an HD Monitor?

I take one of the SDI feeds from the Kbox with my LHe (it feels good to say that, you where right Walter), and feed that into the HDP which I have connected VIA DVI to one of my Dell’s

I have the VGA connected on the first Dell to my G4 and the DVI connected to the G5 as the main
I have the VGA connected on the second Dell to my G5 as the secondary monitory and the HDP connected via DVI (and my HD cable/PVR connected to the component)

I have the component from the Kbox feeding a downconvert signal to the PVM 14L2 (couldn’t afford the L5 at the time when I got the L2)
all in all it works pretty good

August 7, 2006 at 11:23 pm in reply to: Kona drivers for MacPro

the 7300 (the stock card) is VERY underpowered (close to the 6600)
the 7800 is close to the 1900

I would go with the 1900 as the lowest card

I would do the upgrade but do what you were thinking with using DVCPRO HD as you can’t use the 35 mb/s signal (natively) which is the only way you should be using XDcam (kidding . . . . sorta).

I am doing XDCAM HD with FCP 5.1 using my LHe
    captured it all over SDi

Another option would be a couple of MacGurus Burly Boxes
    https://www.macgurus.com/productpages/sata/BurlyPortMultiEncl.php
    I have a 2 of the 5 bay models
    I get +300MB/s
