[Jan Crittenden Livingston] “Chris that sub menu choice that is referencing the interlace or progressive is really a resolution question and is aimed at giving you all the resolution that your delivery medium can handle”

Then Jan, is the camera shooting interlaced or progressive with that setting?

The reason I ask is because I trust shooting to this resolution with improve a SD DVD from this source over 720/24pn?

    I’m sorry about the misspelling.

With a last name like Saraceno, I should be a little more careful.

Thank you for the update. A expedient way to get p2 cards into the MacBook Pro on the fly like a cardbus slot is the only thing preventing us from moving to the Intel Macs.

My advice is to never capture directly to an internal boot drive, particularly a 2.5 inch boot drive

    I was just testing.

Get a second firewire bus using either a PC Card or ExpressCard/34, and attach cam to that, and external firewire drive to the other bus.

    It work pretty lickity split.

I was able to capture 720p.24 directly to the internal hard drive and not drop frames.

Not that I would recommend it.

It takes all of five minutes for this incremental upgrade.

My understanding is the p2 support along with the presets appeared in 5.0.4.

That has been rock solid for me and others.

What are the objective obstacles by the design department?

If you are in the studio mostly, why not capture directly to FCP?

[Shane Ross] ” hear there is an adaptor in the works, but don’t have any details about the release.”

These people have told me that they have one in the works and it will be compatible with the p2 cards
