  • New Two Slot USB Mac Reader for P2 at Panny Booth

Jan Crittenton mentioned that there is a USB Mac reader being developed that will work with the MacBook Pros.

She indicated it was available for viewing at the Panasonic booth at NAB?

Just another P2 store, or something different at a different price point?

Jan didn’t mention price or the difference between it and the p2 store.

Anybody got the skinny on this device?

It’s not a P2 store… it’s a 2-slot version of their 5-slot reader. They gave no price when I asked… but perhaps they can now?

David Saraceno >Jan Crittenton mentioned that there is a USB Mac reader being developed that will work with the MacBook Pros.

    Hi David,

First my last name is spelled Crittenden or Crittenden Livingston.

    >She indicated it was available for viewing at the Panasonic booth at NAB?

I said it was a mock up and it was at NAB.

    >Just another P2 store, or something different at a different price point?

It is not another P2 store is just a 2 slot version of the P2 Drive and smaller like a portable PCMCIA slot with a pigtail.

    >Jan didn’t mention price or the difference between it and the p2 store.

The P2 Drive has a drive in it, this does not have a drive.

    >Anybody got the skinny on this device?

There isn’t much info about it as it is a product to come down the line. No price has been established.

    Best,

    Jan

    I’m sorry about the misspelling.

With a last name like Saraceno, I should be a little more careful.

Thank you for the update. A expedient way to get p2 cards into the MacBook Pro on the fly like a cardbus slot is the only thing preventing us from moving to the Intel Macs.
