  • There are possibly hacks you might look for around the Internet, but that card is way old, way not powerful enough, and worth all of about $10 now. Try to find a more recent and more powerful GeForce GTX card on EBay that is listed on the Adobe site and you’ll be a lot happier.

    Dave,

Yep! This is what happens when happens when either the director or cameraman weren’t paying attention, or one of them said, “let’s fix it in post.” In any case, like you say, somebody should have noticed and said something to the talent during the shoot, period, end of story.

    Steve,

Even if there was a filter or effect that did come with Premiere, no automatic or default setting would create something that would be adequate – you’d still have to learn and master most of the same difficult tasks that you’d have to do if you did the same thing from scratch. VFX work is difficult and tedious, and best left to those who do it for a living.

Not if you want a high-resolution master for duplication, further editing, etc. Don’t confuse camera original “acquisition” codecs with editing codecs, they are, in most cases, simply very different beasts.

You’re barking way up a way too difficult tree… There is no way you’ll be able to even approach a solution that “sells,” unless you master a paint/compositing app and motion tracking, etc.

The size of your project is NOT your problem, period, end of that story.

Your problem is more than likely “pilot error” on your part, and, you need someone who REALLY has a technical background (ie. a finishing editor) to sort out the underlying issues for you before you move ahead and dig your hole any deeper. FYI, the first rule for those is a hole is, stop digging.

FYI, I’m currently fixing a similar project for another filmmaker now – it happens to be on FCP 7, but, don’t let it worry you that I’m regarded as the FCP guru to the stars, I quit using FCP years ago, and long ago moved on to Premiere and Resolve. I’m wrapping that fix later today and would suggest you ask that filmmaker for a reference – he’s been editing with major issues for ages, and I got him fixed-up in just a few hours.

  • Eric,

Dave gave you the only real solution to your question. I worked in situations with multiple editors and that’s the way we successfully achieved what it seems you looking to accomplish.
